The Silicon Valley Triathlon Club invites SVTC members and members of Bay Area triathlon clubs to join in a friendly, triathlon-sized workout and barbecue lunch in celebration of SVTC’s 25th year!
Note that this is a self-supported workout, not a race. All traffic signals and signs must be respected. No street closures or police support will be provided. No timing chips. Times will not be recorded.
Registration required in advance and limited to 125 persons.

Members of clubs other than SVTC - please enter your club name when asked for your "Organization" - thanks!
Please bring your own bike rack and others to share if you have them, as no racks will be provided in the transition area.

Workout: Geared for beginners and experienced athletes seeking tri-sized distances/transitions
Choose either a Sprint-sized or Olympic-sized workout
A non-competitive, untimed, congenial workout - not a race
Course: Swim in the Bay, Bike along the Bay (Sprint) or up Crystal Springs (Olympic), and Run along the Bay (details below)
You may choose to only do 1 or 2 of the legs if you prefer (e.g., bike-run or swim-bike or just the bike) or just the BBQ!
BBQ: Burgers (meat & non-meat), slaw, chips, dessert, beer and soft drinks following the workout

- Swim 2 loops counterclockwise around the buoys just off the beach ~0.75 km SwimPDF

Note the Oly bike ride involves long moderate uphill, some brief assertive climbs, and a one-mile steep downhill near the end; see the PDF for an option to drop 10 miles of the course at mile 6 after the first long climb.

Notes/What to Bring:
- For the swim, figure 56-60 degrees in the water. For current temperature see seatemperature.info/coyote-point
- Wind and waves at Coyote Point are hard to predict though usually calmer in the morning; feel free to tailor your swim to the conditions and your level of comfort (e.g., swim closer to shore, swim one loop instead of two, or just swim to first buoy and back
- We suggest goggles, wetsuit, swim socks, bright swim cap, swim buoy, a jug of hot water to rinse off, and a towel.
- Bring run and bike gear too of course.
- From transition to the swim start is about 1000 ft - you may bring shoes and leave at the beach if you wish - or use swim socks
- Bring your own nutrition/hydration, but we'll have fruit, snacks, and drinks/ice at the Aid Station near the start/finish area.
