HomeTEAM ACCELERATE - Getting started

Team Accelerate

Main Goal: To help guide, teach new, slightly experienced (have raced at least one triathlon), and intermediate triathletes the in’s and out’s of Triathlon racing. From working on their Open Water Swims, to learning bike handling skills both in a pack and solo, eating on the bike, to proper run form and learning how and when to eat when running. This group joins the SVTC track workouts on Tuesdays, SVTC Swim workouts on Wednesdays, Team Rides on Saturdays and OWS on Sundays (when appropriate). In addition to the team workouts, there are specific swim/bike/run/strength/mobility workouts sent through the TrainingPeaks app, and clinics just for those who are in the TA program.

As a group we train for one specific race, determined at the beginning of each season. In the Spring season we train for a sprint or olympic race, and then in the Summer season we train for Sprint/Olympic or Half IM distance races. We base this on experience, and also how much time you have to be able to train per week. The plans are given with either 6, 9 or 12 hours of training per week.

Program Provides:

  1. 12-16 weeks of training based on a 6/9/12 hour per week schedule

  2. Weekly group workouts with SVTC

  3. Weekly Group Zoom call with coach, lectures on nutrition/programming/equipment/race prep/etc..

  4. Special clinics just for participants in TA & NTTS

  5. Low cost compared to working 1:1 with a coach; coaches generally cost $200-$600/month

  6. Access to all the SVTC discounts

Jamii North is a USAT Level 1 Coach, FRC-certified mobility specialist, and women’s physiology specialist. She has her own Fitness Training business in Mountain View which she calls home base.

Jamii started with triathlons in 2012 when a client asked her to do one together. After doing each triathlon distance, she wanted to dive into the technical training aspects and help her clients get the most out of their training. Many of her clients saw so much improvement, yet some, the women around peri/post menopause were still struggling. Then she dove deep into the science of women's physiology to help women feel better and perform better at any age just like their male counterparts.
